Though general manager Ashley Waugh joined the No. 9 Park team in April 2014, she’s a 16-year industry veteran.
After working her way up from server to service manager, then assistant general manager, Ashley now oversees all day-to-day functions of No. 9. Her job description includes everything from staff management to selection of wine pairings for regular tasting menu changes.
As a hostess at The Marmalade Café in Westlake Village, CA, Ashley got her first glimpse into the world to which she's now dedicated her career. She loved the camaraderie among coworkers that created a sense of family, an environment that she strives to foster for her own staff. Ashley first caught the “wine bug” while working at The Capital Grille as a server. It was there that she began tasting wine more seriously. While there, a special bottle of 2007 Tignanello sparked something in her. Soon after, Ashley redirected her career interests from biochemistry to hospitality full-time.
Ashley's love of and appreciation for wine has shaped her time at No. 9 Park, and she is passionate about sharing the restaurant's many beautiful bottles with guests. She earned her Certified Sommelier Certificate and Pin in July 2015. Ashley brings an infectious positive energy to the space and always seeks to go above and beyond the expected. While she relishes many aspects of her position, she most enjoys creating special moments for guests every evening.
